How to pick the perfect marble dining table top?

An insider’s guide to help you make the right decision.

Selecting the right marble piece can be a daunting task especially when you have a sea of different marble tops of different colours and grains for your selection. Every piece of natural marble tops are unique and no piece are alike. Selecting the right marble piece is like selecting your perfect art piece; everyone’s preference is different and unique. The secret to selecting the right marble piece is knowing what you want.

After knowing what you want (mixture of base colour, veining and its colours), you may find a piece that you will fall in love at first sight!

Let us help you to make the right research before going marble table shopping.

Know what you want in advance

The last thing that you want when walking into a shop with many marble choices is to be distracted by the wide selection choices (if they are all beautiful). Make a selection of base colours – do you want it in white, black, green or red? Do you like alot of veins like the Panda White marble or something more subtle? You can check out the different marble designs here: Home & Marble Marbles.

Ask about the origin of the marbles

With the high demand of some European marbles such as the Calacatta and Statuario, some unscrupulous factories will pass off certain marbles with veins as Calacatta marbles. Real Calacatta marbles originate from Carrara, Italy and not from anywhere else. Work with experts like us or your trusted Interior Designer to ensure that you are getting the right marbles from Europe. Different origin of marbles will differ in price – a marble from Malaysia quarry will not be as expensive as a marble from Europe. Get all the names of the marbles in writing in your invoices. Google the names and if they do not exist, you may want to double confirm again.

A marble dining table can be an investment that can last you a lifetime (if taken care properly) – read here on how to maintain your marbles.
